Penthouses in Málaga cluster where the city has been rebuilt rather than where it is oldest. Soho and the regenerated stretch between the centre and the port edge produce most of the genuine modern top-floors — full-height glazing, terraces angled at the cathedral or the cranes of the working harbour — while the Centro Histórico version is usually an átic carved out of a converted older building, scarce and tightly held. Out east, a Limonar or Pedregalejo penthouse trades the port view for the sea and a quieter street. The portals file all of these under one word and price them as if they were comparable; they are not, and we will tell you which is which before you climb the stairs.
